Location: Gauteng’s Roodepoort

Type of Contract: Temporary (with the possibility of permanent placement)

Up to R130 per hour

Start Date: Immediate/Urgent

Overview of the Role

For a temporary position based in Roodepoort, we are in urgent need of a competent and trustworthy fitter and turner. The chosen applicant will be in charge of fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical systems and components. Depending on performance and operational requirements, this position may become permanent.

Key Responsibilities

Perform fitting, turning, and machining tasks to specification

Assemble and install mechanical components and systems

Conduct fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance

Operate lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment

Read and interpret technical drawings and job cards

Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

Complete job reports and communicate effectively with supervisors

Working Conditions

Workshop and plant-based environment

May involve shift work or overtime depending on operational needs

Physically demanding; requires manual handling and standing for extended periods

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Recognized Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter and Turner

Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience in a production or maintenance environment

Strong mechanical aptitude and precision machining skills

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Own transport or reliable commute to Roodepoort

Available to start immediately
