SALARY:
Bricklayers: R9,000 – R15,000 per month
Carpenters: R10,000 – R16,000 per month
Plumbers: R12,000 – R18,000 per month
Painters: R8,000 – R14,000 per month
Welders: R12,000 – R18,000 PER MONTH
Introduction
For the following roles, F&J Electrical is currently looking for qualified and experienced applicants to join our team. F&J Electrical has a Grade 9 Contractor Grading Designation and is a registered contractor with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
The highest contractor grading level, CIDB Grade 9, indicates that the business has the necessary resources, technical know-how, and track record. Duties & Responsibilities
Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of building materials according to plans and specifications
Read and interpret construction drawings and layouts
Mix mortar and ensure correct consistency for application
Measure and cut materials accurately
Ensure structures are level, aligned, and structurally sound
Repair and maintain existing brickwork and masonry
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Follow all health and safety regulations on site
CARPENTERS
Duties & Responsibilities
Construct, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials
Install doors, windows, frameworks, and cabinetry
Perform formwork for concrete structures when required
Inspect and replace damaged framework or structures
Ensure high-quality finishes and attention to detail
Comply with safety standards and procedures
PLUMBERS
Duties & Responsibilities
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures
Read and interpret plumbing drawings and building plans
Install pipes, drainage systems, and water supply lines
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
Test plumbing systems for leaks and functionality
Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Adhere to health and safety standards at all times
PAINTERS
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks
Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Mix and match paint colours as required
Ensure smooth and high-quality finishes
Protect surrounding areas with drop sheets and coverings
Inspect completed work for quality assurance
Maintain painting tools and equipment
Follow safety procedures, especially when working at heights
WELDERS
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform welding tasks using various techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC)
Read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
Cut, join, and fabricate metal components
Inspect welded surfaces and structures for quality and defects
Operate and maintain welding equipment safely
Ensure all work meets required specifications and standards
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on metal structures
Follow strict health and safety regulations

BRICKLAYERS
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Trade Test Certificate in Bricklaying / Masonry
No prior work experience required
Basic understanding of construction work will be advantageous
Ability to follow instructions and read basic drawings
Valid South African ID
Valid Driver’s Licence (advantageous)
Willingness to work on-site and in varying conditions
CARPENTERS
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry
No prior work experience required
Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and materials will be advantageous
Ability to interpret simple technical drawings
Valid South African ID
At least 1 valid Driver’s Licence within the team required
Willingness to learn and develop skills on-site
PLUMBERS
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Trade Test Certificate in Plumbing
No prior work experience required
Basic understanding of plumbing systems will be advantageous
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
Valid South African ID At least 1 valid Driver’s Licence within the team required
Willingness to learn and grow within the trade
PAINTERS
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Trade Test Certificate in Painting or relevant qualification
No prior work experience required
Basic knowledge of painting tools and surface preparation is advantageous
Attention to detail and quality of work
Valid South African ID
At least 1 valid Driver’s Licence within the team required
Willingness to work at heights and in different environments
WELDERS
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Trade Test Certificate in Welding
No prior work experience required
Basic understanding of welding techniques (MIG, TIG, ARC) advantageous
Ability to follow safety procedures and instructions
Valid South African ID
At least 1 valid Driver’s Licence within the team required
Overtime pay in accordance with labour regulations
