- This structured learnership leads to a Fitter Trade Test Certificate, conducted under the auspices of the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA).
As an Engineering Learner – Fitting, you will:
Receive structured workplace training in a mining and refinery environment
Develop a solid understanding of mechanical fitting and machining principles
- First-line maintenance of mechanical equipment
- Assembly, disassembly, and alignment of mechanical components
Use of measuring tools and interpretation of engineering drawings
Learn to maintain plant equipment within normal operating parameters
Build a strong foundation for long-term career progression in mechanical engineering
To be considered, you must have:
- A completed N2 or NCV Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
- N2 subjects must include Mathematics, Engineering Science, Fitter Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing
- A basic understanding of fitting/mechanical trade principles
- Medical fitness to work at both BMR and PMR plants
