Overview
In order to guarantee the effective transportation of goods from point of origin to point of destination, the Logistics & Transport Operations Manager is in charge of organizing, managing, and optimizing all transportation and logistics operations. In order to satisfy organizational and client expectations, this position manages fleet operations, distribution networks, warehousing coordination, compliance, cost control, and service delivery.
Obligations and Duties
Operation of Transportation
Strong grasp of maximizing vehicle utilization (km)
Experience hitting revenue and km goals
Knowledge of route planning
Workers
Knowledge of overseeing controllers and planners
Control room management experience (staff shift rosters)
Knowledge of driver planning and administration
Technical
Knowledge of and expertise in managing a workshop
Experience in vehicle maintenance planning
Proficiency in overseeing a budget
Commercial
Capacity to control customer expectations regarding service provision
Capacity to find possible new customers
Capacity to determine and compute the feasibility of routes and transportation costs
Desired Qualifications & Experience
five to eight years of experience in transportation and logistics, at least two to three of those years spent in a managerial capacity.
strong familiarity with distribution planning, route optimization, and fleet management.
familiarity with ERP platforms, WMS, and TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
strong problem-solving, leadership, and analytical abilities.
Package and Compensation
Depending on experience, R45000 to R60000 CTC per month
